What is Maltstock?
Maltstock is a gathering of whisky enthusiasts. Arriving Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday makes Maltstock an unique weekend of relaxed whisky fun. Many great whiskies to share and plenty of time to enjoy. At Maltstock you will find industry present, surpising masterclasses, plenty of great whisky, a whisky quiz, BBQ, campfire and lots more. Maltstock is all inclusive
Included in the entree fee: two nights accommodation, all meals: Diner, lunch, BBQ and a full Scottish breakfast on both days. (by the Highlander Inn from Craigellachie), all drinks: Soft-drinks, beer, water, coffee, tea) and no extra charge for the drams (except those from the collectors). Also all masterclasses are included.
When and where?
Maltstock 2012 is 7-9 September, just south of Nijmegen, the Netherlands. With seven airports within 2 hours and a train station in Nijmegen it’s very easy to reach from just about everywhere in the world.Check our website for directions

Maltstock: Sharing a whiskypassion!

Where is Maltstock?
It's in the Netherlands, just south of Nijmegen. There's a direct train from Schiphol airport to Nijmegen. It's also within 2 hours driving distance of about seven airports (including two Ryanair bases: Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Dusseldorf-Weeze in Germany) Click here for directions.
Can I park my car at Maltstock?
There is very limited parking space directly in front of the Maltstock venue. There's extra parking space a few minutes walking from the venue. We do advise to travel together as much as possible.
When does Maltstock start?
The Maltstock gates open at Friday at 4 pm. There's no pint in arriving before that since we will still be very busy with the preparations. Diner is at 7 pm so plenty of time to arrive.
When does Maltstock end?
Maltstock ends on Sunday after a full Scottish breakfast by the Highlander Inn. We ask everybody to leave by noon.
What is the accommodation like?
Sleeping at Maltstock is in bunk beds in small dorms with shared facilities. Most of the Maltstock dorms are for either 4, 6 or 8 people.
Do I have to share a dorm with other people?
We do our best to keep you and your friends together in one dorm without having to share with people you don't know. However we can't guarantee you will have a private dorm.
What if I don't want to sleep in a small dorm?
There are two hotels within a few kilometres of the Maltstock venue. There's however no discount if you do not stay at Maltstock and you will of course have to pay for the hotel, as well as the taxi. There's also a small campingsite opposite of the Maltstock venue. But do realise you will miss some of the Maltstock atmosphere since the venue will close it's gates between 01.00 and 09.00
Is bed linnen compulsory?
Yes, bed linnen is compulsory. You can either bring your own or rent it for 10 euro per set.
Until when can I buy Maltstock tickets?
All tickets have to be bought in advance. There is no ticket sales at the Maltstock gates. There are only a limited number of Maltstock tickets available.
What does Maltstock cost?
Tickets are 175 euro per person, all inclusive for the whole weekend.
What does all inclusive mean?
Everything is included in the ticket price. No extra costs while you are at Maltstock. Included are two nights accommodation, breakfast by the Highlander Inn, diner, BBQ, all soft drinks, beers, water, lunch, the masterclasses and all the whiskies at Maltstock. Only two exceptions are the whiskies from the private collections of Full Proof and Whisky Antique. And of course the raflle tickets.
Can I come for just one day?
Yes you can, but it is still 175 euro. Maltstock really is a weekend experience. We don't have separate session as you do have at regular whisky fairs. One of the reasons we started maltstock is because we like the idea to have plenty of time to spend together and to share and enjoy fine drams.
What does bring your own bottle mean?
This is something that has proved hugely successful. Since maltstock is all about share and enjoy we ask everybody who comes to Maltstock to bring a bottle to share and enjoy with everybody. This "bottle-share" table is in the centre Maltstock. It provides a great meeting place. Your not obliged to bring a bottle, but it is appreciated. It doesn't matter what you bring. Just bring whatever you want to share with fellow enthusiasts. Perhaps your worst whisky ever, or your most unusual one, or a few leftovers. It's all up to you.
Is Maltstock only for whiskyclubs?
Absolutely not. Everybody Is welcome at Maltstock! It is however a great place to meet people from other whisky clubs from different countries.
How do I sign up for the Masterclasses?
The masterclasses are included in the price. There is room for maximum 30 people per masterclass. Everybody with a Maltstock ticket will get an e-mail from us as soon as it is possible to book your masterclasses. We will then allocate the available places in a way to meet everybody's wishes as best as possible. We hop-e to have all the masterclasses open for booking in June.
