Maltstock 2026 Program

Maltstock is all about you, our guests! Sharing and Enjoying whisky and the company of old and new friends. Bring a bottle of whisky and share it on the sharing tables in the Square, together with the story about this bottle.

But, Maltstock would not be Maltstock without a great program. Below you can find our top notch Masterclasses, Drinks with… sessions, and other program items such as our great Food and Drinks and the Bierproeven.nu Midnight Cafe.

Program 2026

Chichibu - Yumi

It is almost a Maltstock classic to have this distillery and their wonderful people joining us! We will never take it for granted, as it is very special and relaxed to be able to welcome them again! Yumi, Chichibu’s long time and very respected ambassador, once turned up at Maltstock as a punter last minute. At the time she was working for The Highlander Inn in Craigellachie and they were responsible for our breakfast. Her employer at the time, Duncan Elphric didn’t know she was coming over and we had not much of an idea who she was…

Fast forward to 2026, Yumi has been with us for many years and has become somewhat of a legend herself. Take your chance and join this great Masterclass…

Cask Le Sens - Winnie, Richard

Cask Le Sens, who you probably know as Whisky Concerto, a relaxed independent bottler that have already bottled some amazing whisky and rum! They just love to be at Maltstock and spend time with fellow whisky enthusiast. And that’s exactly what they will be doing this year. Winnie and Richard will be present all weekend, bringing some fantastic whisky’s to share and enjoy and hosting a great Masterclass featuring their fantastic whiskies!

SMWS Bierproeven.nu - Bob, Mathijs

What if you pair up two of the most loved drinks in the world: Beer and whisky! Well, that is exactly what we will be experiencing during this Masterclass! Bierproeven.nu is a relaxed company from our native city of Nijmegen who are great at hosting beer tastings and teaching about beer. They have also been a sponsor of Maltstock for a couple of years and this year the Midnight cafe is sponsored by them too. The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is one of the world's largest whisky clubs and independent bottlers of the good stuff from Scotland and other parts of the world!Together they are hosting a beer and whisky pairing. How do these drinks integrate? How do they taste together? Is it a match? Do they taste great together or should you just keep them apart? Be surprised! Be amazed! Be relaxed ;)

Turntable - Gordon

Again a first… Among whisky lovers this independent bottler has built a remarkably good reputation in a limited amount of time. Don’t let colourful labels and pointers towards music distract you, these whiskies are very relaxed! They will tell you their whiskies are “Small batch, high skill, flavour first creative and limitless reinventive”. We just think they are relaxed great drams and therefore we are very stoked that Gordon Stevenson will be with us for a Masterclass and a couple of sessions!

Masterclasses

This year Malstock will feature FOUR exiting and relaxed Masterclasses on Friday. Everyone with a Maltstock ticket will receive an e-mail so they can let us know their preferences. We will allocate all available seats as relaxedly as possible. You will receive your masterclass itinerary a couple of days before Maltstock starts. But beware, as you can only follow one masterclass, this will mean you miss out on others… Choices, choices… ;)

Hosting the Masterclasses this year will be:

Drinks with…

On our relaxed Saturday we will be running 20 minutes sessions, starting every 20 minutes, throughout the afternoon, in 3 different locations. Our aim is to have small groups of you, our guests, in a more or less intimate, interactive and relaxed setting with the producers and/ or ambassadors to try their products, highlight tidbits, answer questions etc. These sessions are called “Drinks with…” …and of course are included in your ticket fee.

You choose!

You can choose which Drinks with… tastings you would like to attend on Saturday. Sounds relaxed, doesn’t it? All you have to do is show up on time. Available seats will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Tastings will be no longer tan 20 minutes. After the tasting, everybody leaves and new guests can join the next tasting.

Other highlights in our program

What else do we have for you ? The main thing of course is still to relax, meet old and new friends and share and enjoy a few relaxed whiskies. At the heart of Maltstock we have the Square, where our guests leave the whisky they have brought to share with fellow enthusiasts. Always great to see what people bring. So much to choose from, impossible to try all in just the one weekend.

(Whisky) stands

We also have a few whisky stands at Maltstock. A good opportunity to try some amazing drams in a very relaxed manner. Please note that these whiskies are not included in the Maltstock ticket. You pay by the dram, but the prices charged are very relaxed indeed.

Arno Borsboom Private collector, Jeroen Koetsier private collector

Arno and Jeroen haven’t missed a single edition yet. Every year they bring an amazing selection of whiskies. Often liquid history. And you can try them for very relaxed dram prices. And if you’re interested in very good Italian wines, please check out Arno’s business www.piemonte-import.nl

Dutch Whisky Connection - Private collection

It has been a while since Niels Harkink has been with us with numerous relaxed bottles from 'Christmas past'. To be precise, it was our edition in Lievelde where you would have been able to admire his table and taste these wonderful old bottles. We are stoked that DWC are with us again!

Werry van Leeuwen - Private collection

The owner, host and chef of Sugar Hill restaurant in Arnhem, Werry van Leeuwen, is well know among foodies for his great food, ‘out of the box’ flavour combinations and the special use of ingredients in the food he prepares. Among whisky enthusiasts he is als known for his extensive whisky collection which features very special and quite a lot great Japanese whiskies. Werry will again provide us with a great Midnight Snack, but he’ll also bring part of his collection for you to taste! www.sugarhill.nl

Please note that these highly collectable whiskies are not free to taste.

Campfire!

One of the relaxed highlights at Maltstock has always been the campfire on Saturday evening. Gathering all the people at Maltstock around the fire, sharing stories and enjoying a few good drams.

Chocolate and sweets

Inge Lanckacker is the Chef without Restaurant from Belgium. She has prepared lots of sweets and chocolates with and without whisky. Want any advise about combining whisky and food? Inge is the person to talk to!

Unfortunately, not for free, but not expensive either. And sooooo good!

Midnight Cafe

After a relaxed day of meeting people and tasting whisky it is time for a relaxed drink at the Bierproeven.nu Midnight Cafe. Here we serve relaxed drinks such as soft drinks and beers and a Midnight Snack to help you brave the night!

The lovely and knowledgeable guys from Bierproeven.nu will take care that we will have plenty of choice in beers!

Monnik walk

After a late night of tasting great whisky and sharing relaxed stories, and a little bit of ‘shut eye’, it is time to step into the world of Filey Bay whisky during the Monnik Walk by Tony van Rooijen!

On the relaxed but rugged east coast of England a unique whisky is created that attracts the attention of whisky lovers worldwide: Filey Bay Single Malt. The entire production process, from growing barley to bottling the whisky, takes place on the Yorkshire coast. Tony van Rooijen, also known as Tony the Whiskyliefhebber (Tony the Whisky Lover), will put you on the track of this wonderful dram during our traditional walking start of the day!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Tony… prepare for total and utter relaxed shenanigans. For this of you who aren’t familiar with our morning walks… The days of the local guides telling us about wildlife are long gone! Bing a glass and a bottle of water!!

Breakfast by Hielander

Our famous real Full Scottish Breakfast by the Hielander Scotch restaurant from Alkmaar will be served in the Breakfast room from:

  • Saturday: 08:00 - 10:30

  • Sunday: 08:30 - 10:30

Of course you can enjoy coffee, tea, milk or orange juice and toast as well during these opening hours.

Midnight snack by Sugar Hill

Remember the fantastic midnight snack last year? Werry from Sugar Hill serving us his delicious sausages.

Well, Werry has told us he would love to come to Maltstock again and serve you all another very relaxed midnight “snack”. How relaxed is that?

Werry and his mean BBQ machine can be found at the Chapel on Friday from around 23:00h -ish

Bottle Graveyard

All relaxed things must come to an end! A bottle of whisky only contains a certain amount of ambrosia and eventually the sharing ends!

When it is time to say goodby to our dearly departed, we will bring them to our relaxed Bottle Graveyard, so our fellow Maltstock guests can say goodby and the ones who shared these gems will know their contribution was appreciated and can say farewell too!

Parting sometimes is such relaxed sorrow!

Raffle

Like the years before, this year will again feature our famous raffle. You can win great prizes like whisky goodies but also our Grand Prize: 4 nights accommodation and two meals for your next trip to Scotland!
